2025 welcomes “Generation Beta”. 2025 will welcome a whole new generation of babies who will shape the world in their own ways. The kids born between 2025 and 2039 will be known as Gen Beta. The children born this year are expected to account for 13% to 16% of the world population.

And, these kids will live in a world dominated by artificial intelligence and virtual reality, witnessing many technological advancements. 

The next normal for business is beginning to take shape and it’s about artificial intelligence, virtual reality, telecomm, blockchain, banking, the digitization of currencies, retail media networks and content-led brands. Interest rate inflation has followed suit from 2020’s global pandemic supply chain disruptions. The consumer's’ irrational exuberant behaviour has come to an abrupt halt from 2024. A slowdown at retail has continued from this with notable strength, and 2025’s strength has been evident so far in only low-end, value-priced products and, most notably, necessities such as groceries and consumable products.

2025 is about muted spending and whatever normalisation trends are beginning to emerge. These trends could immediately be reversed, however, if draconian tariff impositions take place promised by the new administration set to unveil on January 20.

How these new economic realities interact, direct and engage successfully within our digital world will be the next normal for global business. In numerology, 2025 is the Year of Nines. 2+0+2+5 = 9. And, one thing is for sure, 2025 has already begun to usher in a myriad of uncertainties. While many criseses are over, 2025 will be the year of all things Beta. A new and dramatic shift to living and working online has accelerated changes across the global landscape where we truly live today in the metaverse as one “Digital Borderless Nation".  Here at Omnichanel, digital touches everything, so let’s “give people the power to trust”.

The first generation of the Digital Revolution brought us the Internet of Things (IOT).
